Critiques

Hello, I will start (as I always do) by saying I rate relatively difficult, so don't let anything I say discourage you, as it is not me...

I'll start this critique the same way I start all of the critiques I write. I am a rather difficult rater, and I base my ratings on 3. ...

I will start out by saying, I rate rather difficult, I know what I like. If anything I say offends you in any way, know it is not inten...

As I say at the beginning of every-critique, I am a tough grader, and I know what I like, so don't let me discourage you, and if I offe...

This Friday, I will be shooting between 300 and 700 images (for a request) and will be creating a 1-3 gigapixel (1 gigapixel is about 103 non-cropped images (with my D200), my shots overlap quite a bit, so I need significantly more than 103 shots per gigapixel) panorama (It will have the same coverage as the quad in springtime image) however it will be significantly larger and significantly higher detail.

It will be a where's waldo style, meaning there will be things scattered through the image (IE: 5 jacks, a horse, a cup, a stickly note, 7 small army men, a bowling ball, waldo, and much more (for example)).

The image will be processed and put in a panorama viewer (so you can zoom in close enough to see peoples nose hair from the far side of the image, without it taking up 10 times the size of your screen and taking an hour to load).

Look for it late this week or early next week (will post a small version here (like standard image size) and will have a link to the viewer in the description. It will be the next thing I upload. Not sure yet, but I might offer the first person to find all the items like 3 months of premium or something, not sure yet.

As far as thoughts go, if this goes well, do you think I should do more like this? This particular image will be an easy one to find everything (since it's got minimal obstructions), However I travel quite a bit, and could do one of every major city I visit, and it could be interesting. Let me know your thoughts!

PS: Up to this point, the largest image I have ever created was the fully spherical (360 in all directions) image from ISAT at James Madison University, and it was only about .6 gigapixels, this image will be huge.

*One thing that may delay this is there is a graduation ceremony planned for the same area the next day, if they have tents set up it will block my view, so it may get pushed back til Tuesday which is the next ideal weather day for this project
